WHAT HAPPENS AFTER EUTHANASIA?
After your pet has passed away, the decision regarding aftercare is entirely yours, and it’s helpful to consider your options in advance to avoid stress later. You will not be pressured to make any decisions on the day. We offer private individual cremations, all recorded on CCTV for your peace of mind; let us know if you wish to view this footage. We can discuss urn choices, engraving, or any special requests, and you are under no obligation to decide immediately. Typically, ashes can be collected within 24 to 48 hours, and we will contact you when they are ready. We can also return the ashes directly to you for a small fee. If you're unsure about your options, we can store your pet while you take the time to decide. Additionally, some pet insurance plans may cover the costs of euthanasia and cremation.

WHAT CAN I DO TO REMEMBER MY PET?
There are many ways to cherish the memory of your pet. It’s completely normal to feel upset after losing a trusted companion and beloved family member. The absence of your pet can leave your home feeling empty, and it’s important to take each day as it comes. Treasure your memories and talk openly with family and friends about your loss; don’t feel embarrassed about expressing your emotions. Grieving takes time, and everyone reacts differently. You may experience a range of feelings, including sadness and guilt. Remember that the decision for euthanasia was made with your pet's best interests in mind, aiming to prevent suffering.
HOW CAN I SUPPORT MY CHILDREN THROUGH PET LOSS?
For children, losing a pet can be particularly upsetting, often being their first encounter with death. It’s important to provide support, even if they don’t show outward signs of distress. Talk to them honestly about what is happening and involve them in the decision-making process. Discussing the loss openly can prevent feelings of betrayal or resentment. Be prepared to answer their questions, as many children find comfort in participating in a family farewell or memorial service to say goodbye. Always remind your child that while the pain of losing a pet may fade over time, the happy memories will last forever.

CUSTOMER FEEDBACK

Elaine Hillier
"Just wanted to say thank you for taking such good care of Dottie and myself on that awful Friday 21st. From that first hug, as I came in, which I so needed, right through until I picked Dottie back up again, it was so caring, and it’s the first time I feel that I have given my pet the send-off they deserved. Like you, I, too, have had horrid experiences when leaving my pets at Crematoriums, but I did not feel that at all with you. I'm so glad you're here. Please don’t change it as you have got it all."
WILL MY OTHER PETS FEEL THE LOSS?
Yes, like humans, pets can exhibit signs of grief when a companion or owner passes away. Their behaviour may include crying, searching for their friend, or a loss of appetite. They may experience feelings of sadness, loneliness, anger, guilt, or doubt. To help commemorate your pet and support your other animals, consider asking for a paw print or a lock of fur, creating a pet memorial, or making a scrapbook of memories. You could also set up a small shrine with a photo, light a candle in their memory, or write a goodbye letter to accompany them on their final journey. Sharing your loss with others who knew your pet can also provide comfort during this difficult time.
